Manage a Common Facility

As Domain Administration, you can perform several operations related to eICS facilities and their associations with facilities in the Common Facility system.

These operations are available via the links on the right side of the This facility exists in the Common Facility system statement in the facility's General tab.

First, access the facility. Then, do one or more of the following:

  • Remove the facility from the Common Facility system,

  • Change the facility to associate it with a different facility in the system, and/or

  • Synchronize the facility's details with those available in the system.

Note: The sync link is not available when this facility has been removed from Common Facility.

To remove the facility
  1. Point to Planning and click Facilities. The Facility Administration page opens.

  2. In the left pane, select the facility you want to work with. The right viewing pane shows the General drawer for the facility.

  3. Click the remove link.

  4. Click Save.

To change the facility

If a facility was associated with the incorrect facility in Common Facility, use this procedure to change the association.

  1. Point to Planning and click Facilities. The Facility Administration page opens.

  2. In the left pane, select the facility you want to edit. The right viewing pane shows the General drawer for the facility.

  3. Click the change link. The save page opens showing the details of the facility.

  4. Click Search.

  5. Locate the facility in the results and click its change to this facility link.

To synchronize facility information

You can make certain the details of the facility in eICS correctly match all details available in Common Facility. You can also copy over Common Facility elements, if appropriate.

When syncing, the current eICS facility appears on the left and the Common Facility details on the right.

  1. Point to Planning and click Facilities. The Facility Administration page opens.

  2. In the left pane, select the facility you want to edit. The right viewing pane shows the General drawer for the facility.

  3. Click the sync link. The General tab shows the eICS and Common Facility details.

  4. If appropriate, click a field's Copy button to copy from Common Facility, or click Copy All to copy data from every field.

  5. Click Close. The facility's General tab re-opens, reflecting the changes.

  6. Click Save.
