Install WebEOC

The WebEOC installation package is designed for easy transfer and installation to your hardware. The WebEOC installation package contains the installers for WebEOC, the Board Pack Installer, the Configuration Tool, and the applicable documentation.

After you have completed the review and verification of the installation prerequisites, you are ready to install WebEOC.

Updating to a New Version of WebEOC

If you already use an older version of WebEOC and need to install a newer version, the installation process outlined below is applicable to upgrades, with a few exceptions. To install a WebEOC upgrade:

  • Backup your database before upgrading. This is a recommended best practice to ensure your data is secure and protected during the upgrade process.

  • Follow the instructions in this section. The installation of a newer version of WebEOC follows the same configuration process as for initial installations. Contact Support if you encounter problems upgrading to the newer instance of WebEOC.

New Installations of WebEOC

These instructions are for a new installation of WebEOC. Installing WebEOC is a two-step process: installing the software and adding a board set to the installation.

To install WebEOC
  1. Unzip the installer file on the WebEOC IIS (application) server.

  2. Double-click the WebEOC.exe file.

  3. In the Welcome to the WebEOC Installation Wizard window, click Next.


  4. On the Copyright Notice page, review the copyright notice, and then click Next.


  5. In the Customer Information window, enter your customer ID and license number.


    Note: The Customer ID is case sensitive.

  6. Click Add. The license key appears in the License Number column.

  7. If not already auto-selected, you may need to select the check box next to WebEOC in the Component Name column.

  8. Click Next.

  9. In the Installation Type window, select the appropriate option.


    • Web Server Installation – This option should be selected when installing the same version of WebEOC on a second, or multiple, Web servers pointing to the same database server. If selected, only the Web server components of WebEOC are installed on this machine.

    • Complete Installation – This is the default option, installing both the Web server and database server components of WebEOC on this machine.

  10. Click Next.

  11. In the Web Server Configuration window, enter the Installation Directory location. You can maintain the default installation location, or you can click Browse and enter a new location.

  12. In the Web Server Authentication section, enter the domain.

    Note: This user account should have been set up before installation. It is used as a service account to be used by WebEOC to access system resources and the SQL database. Set the password to never expire and add the account to the local admin group on the machine hosting WebEOC. This account also needs sysadmin rights in SQL Server® for the initial installation. Once complete, this account only needs DBO rights to the WebEOC database.

    Tip: If the WebEOC service account is a member of a domain, enter the domain name. If the service account is a member of the local machine, enter a period (.).

  13. Enter the username.

  14. Enter the password.

  15. Click Next.

    Note: If invalid domain or user information is entered, a warning appears. To continue, click Yes. To re-enter the domain name and/or username, click No.

  16. In the Authentication Information window, for SQL Server Host, select the SQL Server name. This is where the database is going to be installed.


    Tip: You may also type in either the name or IP address of the SQL Server Host. To install the software on the computer you are currently using, enter localhost .

  17. For Database Server Authentication, select the radio button for either Integrated Windows Authentication or SQL Server Authentication.

  18. If SQL Server Authentication is selected, enter the username and password.

  19. Click Test Connection.

  20. If the connection is made, a Success pop-up window opens. Click OK.

    Tip: If an incorrect or unreachable SQL Server host is designated, an error window opens. Click OK, re-enter the SQL Server host, and click Test Connection again. If the test fails again, contact Support for assistance.

  21. Click Next.

  22. In the WebEOC Administrator Password window, enter a password for the WebEOC Administrator login.


    Note: To secure the WebEOC installation, a password must be created for the WebEOC Administrator account. This password is used to initially log in to WebEOC.

  23. Enter the password again to confirm it. If the passwords do not match, an error message opens in red text.

    Note: Passwords are case sensitive.

    Tip: Make a note of the password--it must be used later to log in as the user WebEOC Administrator.

  24. Click Next.

  25. In the Website Selection window, select Default Web Site or Microsoft SharePoint Administration.


  26. Click Next.

  27. In the Locale Selection window, select the appropriate language, and then click Next.

    Note: The default language is English (United States).

  28. In the Time Zone Information window, select your time zone.


  29. If your location does not observe Daylight Saving Time (DST), clear the Observe Daylight Saving Time? check box.

  30. Click Next.

    Note: If your system is using Windows Server® 2003 and/or SQL Server 2005, an error message appears and the installation aborts automatically. Review the installation requirements to resolve this issue.

  31. In the Review Installation Settings window, review the settings in the Settings pane.


  32. Click Next. The Installation Progress window opens.

  33. Current Operation/Operation Count values appear to the right of the Progress indicator bar, and several information windows appear as the installation progresses. When the installation is complete, an Install Complete message appears at the bottom of the Information pane. The Current Operation/Operation Count values appear to the right of the Progress indicator bar.


  34. Click Close. The installation of the WebEOC application is complete.
