Configure a Board for Control Panel Messages

Status boards in WebEOC can be configured to generate a pop-up message on the control panel as new entries or updates are posted. The advisory can be sent to any users currently logged into WebEOC. This is a useful feature that can be added to select boards to alert users that a new or updated entry has been posted. For example, this capability could be added to a Mission Task board to alert users of a new task.

To configure a board for control panel messages
  1. In the Admin window, go to Process: Boards. The Boards page opens.

  2. Click the name of the board intended for notifications.

  3. On the Board: Edit Board page, click Board Editor.

  4. On the Board Editor: [Board Name] page, click the name of the input view to be configured.

  5. From the input view's tab, scroll down to the Settings section and click the Notifications tab.

  6. Select the Control Panel Notification check box.

  7. In the text field, enter the message text you want to appear in the pop-up on the control panel.

  8. Select the board's view from the list. The selected view defines where the user is navigated to when they click the pop-up notification.

  9. Click Save.

  10. Click the input view you just changed.

  11. Configure each field you want to designate as a receiver of the control panel notification.

    • Select the field you want to designate as a receiver field.

    • Select the Receiver check box.

    • Click Apply.

      Note: The receiver can be a WebEOC user. It is customary to designate a drop-down field that contains the built-in users list so that users do not have to enter the user's name. If the pop-up advisory is to be sent to multiple users, you must add the appropriate number of fields.

  12. Configure each field that is to be included in the text portion of the notification.

    • Select the field you want to designate as a notification field.

    • Select the Notification check box.

    • Click Apply.

      Note: If multiple fields are configured as Notification, specified fields are concatenated (combined together) to form the pop-up advisory on the control panel.

  13. Click Save.
