Software Requirements

The installation of TripTix® Windows is a two-step process that involves installing the application and then activating it. Even before these steps, however, you must ensure your device meets both hardware and software requirements.

Prerequisites

Before installing TripTix Windows, you must also verify that your device has the following software installed.

Note: Although not required, it is strongly recommended that your device be current on its Windows updates.

Web Browsers

You must have one or more of the following Web browsers installed on your device:

  • Internet Explorer 10 or later

  • Mozilla Firefox®

  • Google ChromeTM

To access TripTix CDX, the data exchange platform associated with TripTix Windows, Internet Explorer 10 or later, Mozilla Firefox, or Google Chrome must be installed and used as your primary Web browser. You can easily check for the currently installed version of Internet Explorer on your device to verify that this prerequisite is met.

To determine your currently installed version of Internet Explorer
  1. Open Internet Explorer.

  2. In the upper right corner, click the gear icon and select About Internet Explorer from the list.

  3. In the About Internet Explorer window, make note of the version listed.

  4. Click Close.

Microsoft Packages

The following Microsoft packages must be installed on your device. Click any of the packages below to download the software, if needed.

Note: For installer packages of TripTix Windows 4.0.20 or later, the installer automatically installs the C++ redistributable packages if they are missing from your system. The installer also notifies you if it discovers any other missing requirements.

  • NET version 4.5.2 or later

  • Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package - x86

  • Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package - x86

  • Java SRE

If you are unsure whether your device has these packages installed, follow the procedure below.

To check for Microsoft packages on your device
  1. From the Windows Start menu, open the Control Panel. The Control Panel window opens, showing all items on your device.

  2. Double-click Programs and Features.

  3. Verify that the required software programs appear in the list of programs.

Note: If a package is missing, click the appropriate package's link and follow the instructions for installing it.
