Destination Fields

Most fields in the section can be completed without assistance or explanation. Some specialized fields, however, are unique, and several built-in features allow for even faster completion of this section and its subsections.

The following tips can help you properly and thoroughly complete each subsection of the Destination section.

Location

Destination Facility
Select the facility where you transported the patient. This list is preconfigured based on your department and service area. Once you choose a facility, your selection automatically enters data about the facility in certain fields, including the Location TypeAddress, and Location fields. Review the fields to ensure the information is correct, and enter information in any fields that remain empty.

If the facility to which you transported the patient does not appear in the list, leave the Destination Facility field blank and enter the information in the rest of the fields (such as Address or Location) manually.

Destination MRN
The medical record number (MRN) given to the patient by the receiving facility.

Verify
Click the Verify or Verify Address button, depending on whether you are in TripTix Web or Windows, to verify that the address entered is valid. After you click the button, a Verify Address window opens. Click the Use This Address button associated with the appropriate address, and then click Close

If you verify the scene address and destination address, the Transport Mileage field automatically calculates for you.

GPS Location
Tap the GPS Lookup button, to the right of the Longitude field, to auto complete the Latitude and Longitude fields. This feature connects to your vehicle's GPS and determines the location your vehicle is at when you are on scene.

Transport Mode

Transport Mileage
The mileage in this field is calculated automatically when the On Scene and Destination odometer readings are entered into the Destination and Ending fields in the Odometer section. The mileage in this field can also be calculated automatically if you verify both the scene and destination addresses.

Mileage can be entered to the 100th and must be documented at least to the 10th of a mile for billing purposes.

Delays

Turn Around Delay
Indicates a delay in returning to service after patient care was transferred to the receiving facility. Examples of such delays include Decontamination, Equipment Failure, and Distance.

Transport Delay
Indicates a delay that caused the transport of the patient to the receiving facility to take longer than normal or expected. Examples of such delays include Traffic, Weather, and Diversion (to another facility).

In-Transit Care

Disposition Instructions
Instructions you gave the patient before transferring care to a designated destination caregiver. If specific instructions were given for the patient's condition, select Problem Specific Instructions Provided.
