Add a Department Vehicle

This section fulfills the dVehicles Grouping NEMSIS requirement. For more information, see the NEMSIS Data Dictionary.

To add a department vehicle
  1. From any page, go to Administration: Departments. The Departments page opens.

  2. Locate the appropriate agency and click its corresponding View Demographics link.

    Tip: Use the Advanced Search toolbar to quickly locate a department by Agency or Demographic Status.

  3. In the left sidebar, click the Vehicles tab.


  4. Click Add Location.


  5. Complete the vehicle fields, providing the correct demographics for the department.

  6. Click Save.

Vehicle Fields

Unit Number
Number of the unit with primary use of the vehicle.

Note: If the unit does not have a number, click the not value button and select the appropriate value from the drop-down list.

Unit Call Sign
Call sign for the unit.

Note: Vehicles must have a name or call sign to ensure proper billing.

Vehicle Type
The vehicle type.

Vehicle Identification Number

Initial Cost
Initial cost of the vehicle.

Model Year
Model year for the vehicle.

Note: If the model year is not known, click the not value button and select the appropriate not value from the drop-down list.

Vehicle Certification Levels
To add vehicle certification levels for each year, click Add Year.

Calendar Year Statistics
This area shows the vehicle statistics for a calendar year. To add statistics for a new calendar year, click Add Year.
